Shannon Cochrane (b. 1972, Toronto) is performance artist, writer and curator based in Toronto, Canada. Her own performance work has been presented in museums, galleries and festivals across Canada and in 25 countries around the world.
Over the last 30 years, Shannon has contributed to the development of the Canadian performance art ecology through curating, programming, producing, fundraising, advocating and supporting performance artists and their work for a variety of artist-run organizations and independent platforms. Shannon is a co-founding member of the 7A11D International Festival of Performance Art.
Since 2007, Shannon has been the Artistic Director of FADO Performance Art Centre. Established in 1993, FADO is a not-for-profit artist-run centre that specializes in the production and presentation of small-scale performances and live artworks made by Canadian and international performance and visual artists for audiences in Toronto.
Shannon holds a Honours Bachelor of Interpretation (American Sign Language–English) from George Brown Polytechnic.
